Needle in the Hay

I admit that I was totally unprepared for yesterday's trip to the warehouse sale. I left my water in the car, brought no food, and had no idea how long I would be standing in line. We kept getting info that it would be about another hour (it was 2.5 more), 20 minutes from here (another hour), and that really messed with my head. When I finally enter the craziness I was starving, thirsty, and exhausted. And it became very clear that in order to find anything good you had to become a pile scavenger, chasing after the poor workers with rolling racks, and diving into the boxes of go-backs. I did that for a while, but my brain shorted out and I needed to be done. In the end I walked away with some Black Swan Steadfast crops, Fresh Teal Run Inspires, Herringbone U-Turn, and a Black and Inkwell bikini top ( can't remember the style). I spent $123, and while I do like the things that I got I can't say that I thought they were worth even half of the effort that went into going to the sale. I did see people with some very nice scores, but those were few and far between. The "red carpet" entertainment was not happening while I was standing in line. Haven't you ever heard of a T shirt cannon, Lulu? Maybe a push up contest with PRIZES?! The most entertaining thing near me was a very fast cockroach that made a run for it into a crowd of ladies. He met an sad fate under some hulking man's nike. All in all, I am very happy with my life outside of LA. That city has a lot to offer, but I felt a sense of total relief when I drove back into my own neighborhood. And I am happy with the clothes that I have in my drawers at home. The grass is always greener, the luon is always less pilled.... Be thankful for what you have.

Oh. And here is a pic of my new crops with a Ras Glo hyper stripe CRB and new NIKE shoes I got at the rack, post warehouse. I needed a win, so I bought them.

  1. Goodness, it sounds exhausting. I was sad that I am out of town and couldn't go, but I know I would have felt the same as you once I got in. Glad you walked away with some good stuff (including the shoes)!

    1. Hope you are having a very relaxing weekend! I still feel tired from yesterday. It took a lot out of me. I must be getting old! I'm sure if you have a decent lulu collection you'd have passed on most things. There were soooo many hideous pants. So many.
